The Rainbow Beach Family Fishing Classic has been operating for 38 years bringing community, business and visitors together. Our event encourages mate-ship and positive mental health outcomes through the sport of fishing.
The event runs for 7 days offering many opportunities for anglers with 5 nights focusing on minority groups to encourage participation: Seniors, Ladies, Youth, Juniors and Team.
Rainbow Beach Sports Club provides the venue, facilities and staff for the event. We envision 500 adult and 80 teen and junior competitors (based on previous years). In previous years, our community has put in more than 400 volunteered hours in preparations, during the event and post event.

Throughout the duration of the event, over $200,000 worth of prizes are given out representing four prize categories. These prizes are sought from sponsors. Cash can be given and suitable prizes can be sought on the sponsors behalf or prizes can be donated “in-kind”.
